Capitol Hill Remodel
Seattle, Washington

With a ceiling height of five feet, the basement of this 1907 four-square home was less than adequate for this family's needs. The house was shored, the foundation excavated and underpinned, providing a full height ceiling without raising the house. A wall and sub slab drainage system was installed to mitigate basement moisture. Two bedrooms, one bathroom, a family room, a kitchenette, a utility room, and stairs were constructed to house the growing family, with details to match the character of the original home.
