This 680 sf accessory dwelling unit will be placed in the rear yard of an existing residence in North Seattle. High performance windows, super insulated walls and roof, passive heating/cooling, and high efficiency electrical and mechanical systems combine to make this residence a near net zero home. Currently in design, the existing residence on the property will also undergo a green retrofit, and the overall project will incorporate elements such as rainwater harvesting and locally sourced and reclaimed materials.
